Gravity Separation Table
The gravity separation table consists of a vibrating, riffled deck that shakes back and forth longitudinally. Wash water is fed at 90° to the direction of table movement. The longitudinal shaking force and transverse water flow force combine to move the particles diagonally across the table, from the one corner (feed end) to the opposite corner (discharge end).
Despite the wide variety of shaking tables, the basic concept lies behind the concentrating operation remains the same, that is, to separate fine, heavy metals from coarse, light wastes by exploiting the differences in their specific gravity.
The shaking table pictured below does not show the riffles on the table surface clearly. There are actually two types of riffle patterns available: parallel and diagonal. Shaker table with diagonal riffle pattern offers higher handling capacity, and recovers finer particles than one with parallel rifle pattern.
Three U-shaped steel support
The gravity separation table is a piece of gravity concentration equipment. It is quite efficient at recovering valuable fine minerals such as gold, silver, tin, columbium, tantalum, titanium, barium, tungsten, iron, chrome, manganese, zircon, lead, zinc, mercury, copper, and Aluminum.
Pour the mineral ore in the feeder and add some water to make a slurry consisting of 20% to 25% solids by weight. Open the feeder to let the slurry fall by gravity onto the deck. The fine, heavy particles are forced to the bottom and the coarse, light particles remain at the top. Water is fed along one side of the table, impeding the mineral flow at right angle (90°). Lighter particles are easily carried away by the water flow and climb over the riffles, or edges, to the opposite side (tailing side) of the table. Heavy particles crawl along the longitudinal riffles to the concentrate side. Differences in density, size, and direction of movement cause the group of mineral particles to spread in a fan shape. With this table, concentrates, middling, and tailings of various types are obtained.
Precise, clear separation is the primary benefit of the shaking table for its user companies. A high concentration ratio can be achieved, too. In addition, the shaker table is most effective with the task of handling metallic ores from 3 down to 0.02 mm in size.
The motor is mounted separately off to the side of the table. Self-oiling parts are housed in a cast iron casing. An oil trough facilitates splash lubrication which ensures minimum friction between moving parts.
The decks are constructed from steel framework and covered with 16mm-thick fiberglass and emery. This cover provides strength 70% higher than steel. It also gives the table extra ability to resist wear, corrosion, and deformity. An externded service life can be guaranteed as well. All these properties allow the table to easily handle different materials and operating conditions.

The parallel riffles design of the shaking table is particularly aimed at the recovery of particles from 0.5mm to 2mm in size. The fine type deck is designed for recovering fine particles with size ranging from 0.074 mm to 0.5 mm. The slime type deck is available for recovering extremely fine particles within the size range between 0.02 mm and 0.074 mm.
